Home visiting is one of many ways that families of children with disabilities can receive the help they need to encourage their child’s healthy development. The California Home Visiting Program (CHVP) provides in-home services to support families in at-risk communities. Parents are paired with home visitors who offer information, coaching, and resources to help families be healthy and strong.

Monique is one of these parents—she was matched with a home visitor, Stacey, to help her access resources and services to support the development of her daughter Brooklyn, who was diagnosed with Down syndrome. Stacey referred Monique to her local regional center for Early Start services. Watch the video below to hear Monique’s story of how home visiting provided the support she needed to help Brooklyn thrive. To read more about Monique and Brooklyn, click here.

The ICC-Recommended Early Start Personnel Manual (ESPM) describes core knowledge and role-specific competencies needed for early intervention service provision, incorporating current research and evidence in the field of early intervention. To access the ESPM, CLICK HERE.
